NEW DWELLING IN SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE VILLAGE

NEW DWELLING ON INFILL SITE USING GREEN OAK AND SIPS PANEL CONSTRUCTION

Currently under construction, the green oak frame and SIP’s panel construction meant the shell was completed in a matter of weeks.

The SIP’s panels offer high levels of thermal insulation and low air permeability. The panels are faced in a combination of brick and flint and hardwood cladding to reflect the local vernacular.

The dwelling benefits from underfloor heating, an air source heat pump and an extensive array of PV panels.

An ‘H’ plan reduces massing and scale and the resulting design was supported by officers on the basis that it ‘conserves both the conservation area and the AONB and does not harm the setting of designated and non-designated heritage assets’.
