CONVERSION OF BARNS FOR OXFORD UNIVERSITY

Conversion of listed barns to field studies centre

This project, involving the conversion of disused barns within the curtilage of grade 2 listed Tubney House was carried out whilst working for Frankham Consultancy Group.

The wider of the barns provided space for a lecture room and communal kitchen with the narrower barn accommodating the bedrooms and bathrooms. The barns are joined by a contemporary glazed link that forms the entrance hall.

The design was sympathetic to the original structures, utilising existing window and door openings and retaining existing features where possible.
