Change of use under new permitted development class MA

Former restaurant in town centre location, the existing premises comprise commercial use on the ground floor with integral apartment above.  We successfully made the case that this change of use would have no adverse effecton the conservation area and that it meets all the conditions of the Class MA change of use. The proposals involved concurrent applications for prior approval and demolition in a conservation area, and it has now been confirmed that the development is permitted.

As the project progresses to the next stage we’ll be looking closely at the material change of use requirements in order to balance the need for improvements to thermal performance with breath ability of the existing structure.
